Feature & Follow (3)

Welcome to any week of Feature & Follow hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read.

So the question this week is:
What do you hope to accomplish with your blog? Is it to one day become an author yourself, just for fun, maybe get some online attention, or maybe something very different?
I think this is a very good question. See, we do everything for a purpose, and if you do something without figuring out what your goals are, you'll easily be discouraged and quit. So this question actually helps bloggers to realize their goals in book blogging.

Personally, my goal for running the blog would be to gain some new friends. Not that I don't have friends from school, it's just that I've always been around people that has the same culture as me, so I wanted to know people from around the world, to talk (or at least communicate) with people of different cultures. And since I love reading, what could be better than starting a book blog? I could write down all the thoughts that swirl around my brain after I read a book and sharing it to people on the Internet. I can communicate with them, despite that we live thousands of miles apart. It's a good way to expand my social network ;)

Of course, I don't just run a blog with ONE purpose. I also want to be an author someday. I realized my love of writing only a few years ago. But I am trying to work towards writing my first YA novel. Actually, NaNoWriMo sounds like a good opportunity and motivation to do that. I'll do it, if I have time. ;P (I've always have new ideas striking at the weirdest and most inconvenient hours, I couldn't write them down, yet I always forget them later...)

What are your motives for starting your blog? Tell me in the comments, I would like to know ;)

Great answer! Sometimes I tend to forget the fact that I could be talking to someone from Asia or Europe or America and it's really nice to be reminded of it and realize just how many YA lovers there are worldwide. I know what you mean about coming up with ideas ever to randomly as well haha.

Hope the writing comes along well!

    1. The time difference is a little headache though. I try to post new posts at a time when all countries are almost in the same day (e.p. 5thOct), and I end up posting it on 3:00 A.M. in US, not a good time to draw traffic to the blog ;P

      Thanks for commenting!

I never thought of being professional about blogging, but it sounds like a big goal, hope you can achieve it! I think almost all book lovers want to be an author in some degree :)

  7. Oh so been there when the ideas come at the most wrong time ever! Like when I am trying to sleep. I keep a notebook under my pillow now for those moments!

Love reading and having people to talk to about books with! My friends always gave me a hard time about reading my paranormal books. Although I have converted one friend to the "Dark side"! Just took til after high school! Haha!

Thanks for visiting and following my blog! I follow you now too!

    Have a GREAT weekend!

    1. Wow, that sounds a little uncomfortable.LOL Another problem I had when coming up with ideas, I don't really know how to write down an idea clearly without turning it into a short essay of 300 words. LOL I rant a lot so my writing are usually long too, not a good way to jot down ideas... ;)

That's kind of a great feat. My friends read, sometimes, but they don't read English books and say I am crazy for liking it so much... I am still trying to bring my friends to the fangirling realm that is YA :P

      Thanks for following back ;)

    1. Yup, and here I am, making new friends! :) Sharing books with people is a great reason to start blogging too. If it was just commercial companies promoting books, readers won't have a way to get an actual opinion from real-life users/readers, so book blogging is good and important to the publishing business! ;)

      Followed back, thanks for following!

    1. Sorry for the whole ranting on your blog! Thanks, I'll need it in writing, I find it hard to concentrate when I sit down and write. *sigh*

Thanks for following back! And thanks for the compliment too ;)

  11. I can't believe you're only 14-- your reviews are so detailled!! I'm a new follower and can't wait to see what you write. I might try NaNoWriMo this year, too. (I always need something to push me to keep writing!)

    Here's my FF post.

  12. Thank you! (But I'm sure my grammar stinks, never been good at it) And thanks for following. followed back ;) I actually tried writing a novel this summer, needless to say I gave up after the first chapter. I always think that you need to write a complete and detailed outline before writing, since I'm the kind of person that writes when creativity strikes, I just thought my novel will be very, very bad and lose all enthusiasm on it...*sigh*
