Feaure & Follow (5)

It's Friday! Another week has gone by, and I managed to slip in a little revision here and there, my tests will start next Friday, but I think that won't affect the schedule much. Aside from the meme post, I actually have a review going up today, tomorrow and on Sunday. I know, lots of reviews, well, I am squeezing in as much reading as I could these days, since my reading will slow down during tests, and I have a few requested e-books that I had to review, so, look forward to a weekend of reviews from Chillin' With Books! :)

Q: When you step out of your USUAL genre what do you like to read? Best books in that genre?
Since I am Chinese, so I read Chinese books when I am not reading YA like there's no tomorrow. These Chinese books are usually books discussing social issues, like "helicopter parents" and such. I don't know why I like these kind of books so much, I just thought it was kind of fun reading all about the shocking data featured in the books as an accompaniment, they look so unreal yet they were true numbers and cases, and I just like reading about different social issues that I have an interest in. Since it's in Chinese, I don't think telling you the best book in that genre is is gonna help, but I do it anyway. 怪獸家長 by 屈穎妍 is one of my favorites. It's actually about "helicopter parents", even though I am just a student and no where near having a child, I think the cases in there is so ridiculous that I had a lot of fun reading it and think about it too ;)

    1. Thanks! I had fun drawing them! The annoying part was actually scanning it to the computer then PS it 'til all the edges are gone, but all the hard work's worth it if the readers like it! :)

Thanks for following! I can't use the GFC on your blog though, I think Blogger is acting up again. Several blogs that I read also have the same problem of the GFC not appearing too. Ugh, I hate Blogger, probably switch to Wordpress soon... Do you have a Twitter? I can't find it but I'm willing to follow you on Twitter! :)

    1. Well, there's so many great fictions out there, I'd be contented with just reading YA for the rest of my life ;) There are books written by HK authors, but I don't find them appealing either. I am used to reading books with a more western culture feel to it, so when I saw the characters in these books, I can't connect to them, nor do I think like them. I've thought of reading A Song of Ice and Fire series, just because it has so much buzz and hype for the TV series, but then I saw the size of that book and recoiled. I don't think I can handle it :P

Thanks for following! Followed via GFC! ;)

I love your images too! Scanning and editing images is definitely a hassle, which is why I haven't been doing it so much lately, because I can't seem to find the time. I need to back up all my drawings though. New Follower.

    1. Glad you like 'em! It was an annoying job, I am glad you share my feeling about it. ;) Especially with the crayon drawings, there was actually no edges, so when I edit it, I have to be really careful, I can't leave some white background on the image or whip it too close to the edge that I erase part of the picture. Well, I like the heading of your blog too! That cloud was so cute <3

      Thanks for following! :) I followed 2 ;)

    1. I am glad to meet you too <3

I love paranormal (otherwise I won't devote a whole post discussing it!) too! I think they are so creative which really makes want to write a book like that after I read them... Yup, the author dream.

I haven't read any Maria Snyder books, but I have heard of the Study series, and I am always up for a good spy novel! (I love the Gallagher Girls series!)

      Thanks for commenting again <3

    1. Yeah, here in Hong Kong it's way more free than China, but I can't deny it, I am born a Chinese ;) I actually was born in Australia though, I moved back, maybe part of the reasons why I like English so much is because I have lived in an English country!

Personally, I think all the html is gibberish looking to me. I can't even remember a single html, I just copy the html from my old posts when I post a blog :P As for the Rosetta Stone, don't go too far yet, I don't want you to be broke because of a book! ;)

Have a great weekend too! :)

    1. Yeah, it's kind of a big social issue in HK, those cases are actually ridiculous. There are cases about 9th graders that didn't know how to tie their shoes... WTF!?

You're welcome! I like your blog design! I can never understand html and css enough to pull it off. :P
